I love the holidays! I get to re-connect or meet for the first time with my ‘nerd herd’ friends and family that hook me up with new technology! This thanksgiving I discovered Tube TV. TubeTV is an application from Apple that allows you to download videos from Youtube. Great right? Especially if you are collecting videos on sasquatch’s or bathroom readers. It’s only for Mac’s so all of you PC users will have to put away your spreadsheets and search for ‘like’ applications out there. I won’t knock PC too much as I play both sides, but Mac is more fun :).
Do a few searches on Youtube for Tube TV or search it on google. You’ll find a few pages like this one that give the pro’s and con’s. The software requires Quicktime 7.2 or higher plus a free Quicktime component called Perian. If you like to watch videos on your ipod, this software is for you!
Enjoy this…the first one I’m downloading.
Quote of the day: Work smarter not harder!
Have fun out there!

You might like Zamzar, then. It does essentially the same thing no matter what platform you’re using: http://zamzar.com - just choose the url selection.
that’s why you rock Geoff. Maybe you should’ve been at the Thanksgiving turkey dinner… I could’ve learned all kinds of things.
It’s come to my attention that the tubetv quality might be pretty poor and it doesn’t work very well at all with FLASH. Anyone know of a Flash to .mpg converter?
