Using GPS (Global Positioning System) technology, software built into your SmartAlec can figure out exactly where you are on the map. The SmartAlec uses this map to trigger information that is relative to your exact location only.
Pretty awesome  isn't it? Since SmartAlecs are GPS based this means that each device has to have a decent view of the sky above. Although they need to see the satellites in the sky, they still work in most types of weather.
